2008³â, ½Ã°¢°ú »ç°íÀÇ ÇѰ踦 ÀνÄÇÑ ¾î´À ³¯, ¹Ì¿¡ ´ëÇÑ Æí°ß°ú ÇнÀµÇ°í ±æµç °¨°¢À¸·ÎºÎÅÍ ¹þ¾î³ª±â À§ÇØ, »öÀÌ ±¸ºÐµÇÁö ¾Ê´Â ¾îµÎ¿î °ø°£¿¡¼­ ä»öÀ» ½ÃÀÛÇß´Ù. ÀÌÈÄ, ÇϳªÀÇ °üÁ¡¿¡ ºüÁö´Â ¼ø°£ ³õÄ¡°Ô µÇ´Â ¸¹Àº »ç½Çµé¿¡ ´ëÇÑ °æ°è·Î "Anti-Focus"¶ó´Â ÁÖÁ¦·Î ÀÛÇ°È°µ¿À» À̾î¿Ô´Ù.

I am pleased to present "Anti-Focus VII: In Me," the exhibition of my new works of art worked in 2020.

 

In 2008, one day, recognizing the limits of views and thoughts, I began painting in a dark space where colors were indistinguishable, to escape from my aesthetic prejudice and my skilled and learned sense. Since then, I have worked on the theme of "Anti-Focus" as vigilance for the phenomenon: we miss many facts when our views and thoughts fall in one perspective.

 

My latest works were born this way: first, I randomly picked the number of brushes and then painted with my eyes closed, repeatedly resisting my will or the will to resist my will. I wanted to bring what is beyond the edge of my consciousness into reality.

 

After painting, sometimes, even to me, my works of art seemed appalling and confusing. But when I put down the standard for judging beauty and was facing them for a while, I experienced a calm place where is no obsession. The peaceful space is not in my works of art, but it was already in me, or the viewers.

 

Also, I will display new impromptu paintings and painting collages: I arbitrarily cut my unsold paintings and, responding to each material properties of the pieces, bent and attached them to a restructured canvas frame.
