한국사진방송 김재훈기자(원주) = 2025시즌 열일곱 번째이자 KLPGA투어 상반기 마지막 대회인 ‘2025 오로라월드 레이디스 챔피언십’(총상금 10억 원, 우승상금 1억 8천만 원)이 오늘 7월 31일(목)부터 8월 3일(일)까지 나흘간 의 일정으로 강원도 원주시에 위치한 오로라 골프&리조트(파72/6,509야드)에서 막을 올린다.
올 시즌 처음 KLPGA와 인연을 맺은 오로라월드㈜는 1981년 설립 이후 40여 년간 완구 및 캐릭터 콘텐츠 산업을 선도해온 글로벌 기업이다. 'Gifts of Smiles'을 모토로 한국과 영국 완구 시장 점유율 1위, 미국 시장 점유율 2위를 기록하고 있다. 대표 캐릭터인 ‘유후와 친구들’과 ‘팜팔스’는 미국과 유럽 Gen-Z 세대를 중심으로 폭발적인 인기를 끌며 캐릭터 팬덤을 형성하고 있다.
오로라월드㈜가 처음 개최하는 ‘2025 오로라월드 레이디스 챔피언십’은 자사 대표 캐릭터인 ‘팜팔스(Palm Pals)’를 활용해 기획한 국내 최초의 캐릭터 기반 골프대회로, 캐릭터와 골프의 특별한 만남을 통해 선수와 갤러리 모두에게 차별화된 경험을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.

Aurora World Co., Ltd., which has been with KLPGA for the first time this season, is a global company that has led the toy and character content industry for more than 40 years since its establishment in 1981. With the motto of "Gifts of Smiles," it ranks first in the Korean and British toy markets and second in the U.S. market. Its flagship characters, "Yufu and Friends" and "Pampals," are gaining explosive popularity among Gen-Z generations in the U.S. and Europe, forming character fandom.
The "2025 Aurora World Ladies Championship," which will be held for the first time by Aurora World Co., Ltd., is the first character-based golf competition in Korea designed using its flagship character, Palm Palms, and is expected to provide a differentiated experience for both players and galleries through a special meeting between characters and golf.
