2. Emanation by the light and The One, the feeling of transcendence
At the bottom of the sunflower painting to the circle lies the history of Park Seon-nyeo's work, which has interpreted life as an abstract expression. Interested in the psychological effects of color, she has continuously identified the interpretation of life values and self-identity such as passion, love, pain, and hope and has been experimenting the expressions. The important point is that she continuously put in her efforts to ponder on how she can reflect this "through work" and "in the direction of becoming a work". If "free will" that is constantly trying to transcend reality while constructing "the reality of the work" is the driving force behind her creation, the specific expressive texture of the work has continued through experiments such as paper porridge, sprinkling, and the exploration of color psychology until she reached the recent work of <SUN WAY>. The expression on the screen created by this is almost like the clothes of the sun, and the sense of light is well-embodied as a pictorial fact.
In art, the problem of light and the problem of circles are in the same orbit as the human history, with the representation of enlightenment and transcendence, goodness and perfection, such as the Western iconography and Buddhism's Ten Udo. In particular, the image of 'overflowing light' can be viewed in the light of the theory of One-Emanation of Plotinus (Πλωτινος, 205-270), which explains the "existence" of all things.
The one theory of Plotinus, classified as neoplatonism, was also the main theory that supported the spirit of Renaissance religion and humanities. Everything is caused by the overflow of The One, and it gradually descends to "One, intelligence, soul, and body(material), which rises again toward The One, and "One" is the source of all diversity. This can be compared to "light" when The One is represented as a shape. The most beautiful thing for Plotinus is this One, as the light itself. Beauty is faithful, unified, and single, and light can be understood as the most beautiful thing and the incarnation of God. Just as light is sprayed from the sun, truth, complete beauty, and goodness are distributed from the One. It is art that contributes to the outflow and anamnesis, from The One to the body(material) through the outflow to the best One again. In this way, the path that integrates senses and emotions by representing the path of light, and Park Sun-nyeo's work, which constitutes "the scene of distribution"' through interpretation of life or experiment of materials, can be directed to interpretation. Beauty is 'one' and 'not two', and it is a being that is divided by the anamnesis to The One, which is the reality of the image of <SUN WAY>, the road of light. Plotinus' aesthetics is understood as ancient aesthetics in aesthetic history, but as a theory that supported the Renaissance spirit, the horizon of art from the perspective of convergence and integration is currently open to new interpretations.
