한국사진방송 김재훈 기자(원주) =2026시즌 열한 번째 대회인 ‘2026 셀트리온 퀸즈 마스터즈’가 오는 6월 5일(금)부터 7일(일)까지 사흘간, 강원도 원주에 위치한 성문안 컨트리클럽(파72/6,615야드)에서 막을 올린다.

연구개발, 임상, 허가, 생산, 유통에 이르는 바이오 의약품 사업의 전 과정에 대해 차별화된 통합 솔루션을 제공하는 글로벌 생명공학기업 셀트리온이 주최하는 본 대회는 2019년에 시작해 올해로 7회째를 맞이했으며, 매년 명승부가 펼쳐져 골프 팬들의 큰 호응을 얻었다. 특히, 올해는 총상금 3억 원이 증액되어 2026시즌 KLPGA투어 최고 상금액인 15억 원이 내걸려 더욱 큰 관심을 받고 있다.

총 120명의 선수들이 출전해 자웅을 겨룰 예정인 가운데, 지난해 연장까지 가는 접전 끝에 우승 트로피를 품에 안은 이가영(27,NH투자증권)이 디펜딩 챔피언으로 나서 타이틀 방어전을 치른다. 이가영은 “디펜딩 챔피언으로 출전하는 대회라 뜻깊고 설레는 마음이다. 좋은 결과가 있었던 대회인만큼, 긍정적인 생각을 가지고 대회에 임하려 한다.”면서 “성문안 코스는 페어웨이를 지키는 것이 관건이다. 현재 컨디션과 샷 감이 좋아지고 있기 때문에 타이틀 방어에 성공할 수 있으면 좋겠다.”고 덧붙였다.

이가영의 인터뷰 내용처럼 이번 대회가 열리는 성문안은 보기에는 넓어 보여도 공략할 수 있는 페어웨이가 반 정도밖에 되지 않는다. 또한, 러프도 밀도가 상당히 높고 긴 편이라 페어웨이를 지키는 선수가 많은 버디 기회를 만들 수 있는 코스다. 핀 위치 역시 페어웨이를 지키는 선수가 확실한 보상을 얻을 수 있도록 세팅 될 예정이라 티 샷의 정확도가 매우 중요하게 작용할 것으로 보인다.

직전 대회인 ‘Sh수협은행 MBN 여자오픈’에서 우승하며 통산 20승이라는 KLPGA투어 최다 우승 기록 타이를 달성한 박민지(28,NH투자증권)는 내친 김에 2주 연속 우승과 함께 ‘KLPGA 역대 최다 우승’ 기록, 그리고 ‘동일 대회 최다 우승’ 기록에도 도전한다.

박민지는 “정말 오랜만에 우승한 뒤 다음 대회에 나가는 것 같다. 좋은 감을 쭉 이어가고 싶고, 좋은 성적으로 이번 대회도 마무리하고 싶다.”고 입을 연 뒤 “가야 할 곳과 가지 말아야 할 곳이 명확한 성문안은 영리한 플레이를 해야 하는 곳이다. 공략과 플레이가 맞아 떨어진다면 좋겠고, 선수로서 할 수 있는 최대한 컨디션을 끌어올려 대회에 임하겠다.”는 각오를 내비쳤다.

박민지와 현재 웰컴저축은행 대상포인트 1위 이예원(23,메디힐), 2위 방신실(22,KB금융그룹)을 비롯해 임진영(23,대방건설), 김민선7(23,대방건설) 등 올 시즌 1승을 기록한 선수들은 다승의 영광을 차지하기 위해 나서며, 올 시즌 우승은 없지만 꾸준한 활약으로 상금순위 톱텐에 자리한 김시현(20,NH투자증권), 전예성(25,삼천리), 박현경(26,메디힐), 서교림(20,삼천리)은 마수걸이 우승을 노린다.

지난해 이가영과의 연장에서 아쉬움을 삼킨 한진선(29,메디힐)은 절치부심의 마음으로 출사표를 던졌고, 본 대회 초대 챔피언인 조정민(32)도 트로피 탈환을 노리며, 셀트리온의 후원을 받는 김서윤2(24)는 메인 스폰서가 주최하는 대회에서 생애 첫 우승에 도전한다.

6월5일(금) KLPGA투어 ‘셀트리온 퀸즈 마스터즈’ 개막을 하루 앞두고, 최정상급 선수 4인(이예원, 이가영, 박민지, 방신실 프로가 포토콜 촬영을 하였다.

Hosted by Celltrion, a global biotechnology company that provides differentiated integrated solutions for the entire biopharmaceutical business from research and development, clinical, licensing, production and distribution, the competition began in 2019 and marks its seventh anniversary this year, and it has received great response from golf fans as a great competition takes place every year. In particular, the total prize money has been increased by 300 million won this year, attracting even more attention as the maximum amount of the KLPGA tour in the 2026 season is 1.5 billion won.

With a total of 120 athletes scheduled to compete in the tournament, Lee Ga-young (27, NH Investment & Securities), who won the championship trophy after a close race that lasted until last year's extension, will compete as the defending champion. "It is meaningful and exciting because it is a competition where I compete as a defending champion. As it was a competition with good results, I will try to participate in the competition with positive thoughts," Lee Ga-young said. "The key to the Seongmunan course is to keep the fairway. I hope I can succeed in defending the title because my current condition and sense of shot are improving," he added.

Like Lee Ga-young's interview, the gate to the tournament looks wide, but there are only half of the fairways that can be targeted. In addition, the rough is quite dense and long, so it is a course where many players who keep the fairway can create birdie opportunities. The pin position will also be set up so that players who keep the fairway can get a clear reward, so the accuracy of the tee shot is expected to play a very important role.

Park Min-ji (28, NH Investment & Securities), who won the previous tournament, "Sh Suhyup Bank MBN Women's Open" and achieved the most wins in the KLPGA Tour, will challenge the record of "the most wins in KLPGA history" and "the most wins in the same tournament" with two consecutive weeks.

"I feel like I'm going to the next tournament after winning the championship for the first time in a long time. I want to continue my sense of good, and I want to finish this tournament with good results," Park said. "Seongmun, which clearly shows where to go and where not to go, is a place to play smartly. I hope the target and the play match, and I will try to improve my condition as much as I can as a player and participate in the competition."

Players who have won one game this season, including Park Min-ji, Lee Ye-won (23, MediHill), who is currently the No. 1 player in the grand prize point of Welcome Savings Bank, and Bang Shin-sil (22, KB Financial Group), Lim Jin-young (23, Daebang Construction), Kim Min-sun 7 (23, Daebang Construction), and Kim Si-hyun (20, NH Investment & Securities), Jeon Ye-sung (25, Samchully), Park Hyun-kyung (26, MediHill), and Seo Kyo-rim (20, Samchully), who have not won this season, are aiming to win the title.

Han Jin-sun (29, Mediheel), who swallowed the disappointment in the extension with Lee Ga-young last year, threw her hat in the ring with pride, Cho Jung-min (32), the first champion of the main competition, is also seeking to recapture the trophy, and Kim Seo-yoon (24), sponsored by Celltrion, is trying to win her first career championship at a competition hosted by the main sponsor.
